Description
Over these, oil paint is applied in luminous final layers, introducing depth, opacity, and a quiet intensity of color. Geometric forms hover and drift through the composition, gently interrupting the organic flow. They appear suspended, like markers of consciousness or fragments of structure within an otherwise intuitive terrain. Greens and blues dominate, recalling moss, leaves, shadowed water, and reflected sky, while subtle contrasts of light and darkness create a sense of rhythm and breath.
The work operates both as a landscape inspired by Hawaiʻi’s rainforest ecosystems and as an introspective map—an inner terrain shaped by memory, sensation, and perception. It invites the viewer to move through layers of density and clarity, to linger between abstraction and recognition, and to experience the painting as a space of quiet immersion and transformation.
